After the news broke that Kapamilya actress Liza Soberano withdrew from the upcoming film “Darna,” the public was in shock and felt sad for this news, but on the other hand, it roared and excited the public on who would replace and act for the the iconinc Filipino superheroine.
It has been 5 years ago, when the first announcement was made for this upcoming movie, and one of the main challenges for the movie is to find the perfect “Darna” that will live up to the role perfectly, and one of the great contenders for this spot, is no other than the 67th FAMAS Best Actress awardee, Nadine Lustre.
With this achievement that the 25-year-old actress has made, a lot of people now believe that she has the potential, and that she seems to fit the role in becoming the next “Darna.”
In the 67th FAMAS Gabi ng Parangal, Director Treb Monteras had shared his opinion on Nadine being Darna in an interview,
“Kung ang tanong, ay kung bagay ba siya, definitely, sobra siyang bagay. And actually may isa pang comic super hero, yung Wave, yung bago ng Marvel, na si Nadine din daw yung inspirasyon.”
“Si Nadine kasi, superhero naman siya. Kumbaga, sa totoong buhay rin, in a way, she’s a superhero. So, bagay na bagay sa kanya. And, I think, if ever man na gagawin niya yung Darna, feeling ko, bagay na bagay sa kanya.”
“Napaka-versatile niya e,” Direk Treb added.
Direk Treb truly believes that Nadine truly fits to be Darna. Not just Direk Treb agreed on this, but the former director of the “Darna” film itself, Direk Erik Matti. In his press conference for “Kuwaresma,” he believes on Nadine being the perfect Darna.
“Ang feeling ko lang, si Nadine ‘yung babagay talaga sa tipo niya, sa tipo na role ni Darna.”
Just recently, Nadine even confirmed that she is open in accepting the role as “Darna,” on his renewal of contract with ABS CBN. The actress has said that Darna is a very nice opportunity.
“Yeah, I’m open. Kasi it’s nice, it’s a good opportunity, it’s a good project, so who’s not open for it?”
“I mean, if it’s meant for me, sa akin po ibibigay. But like what I’ve said before, I know that the project is going to be given to someone who can give justice to the role. It does not have to be me, as long as mabigyan ng justice. I know naman that everyone is going to pick the right one.”
Well as a matter of fact, the previous FAMAS Awards Best Actress winners Vilma Santos, Sharon Cuneta, Lorna Tolentino, and Angel Locsin had played the role of “Darna.”
With things going into places, do you think Nadine Lustre will be our next Darna?
