It was on May 3, Friday, when GMA Network drama series ‘Sahaya’ finally swept off its rival show ‘The General’s Daughter.’ With a 0.6% lead, the series garnered a rating of 11.0% while ‘The General’s Daughter’ gathered 10.4% viewership.
It is indeed a milestone for the series, and for the Kapuso love team Bianca Umali and Miguel Tanfelix who top-bills the show.
Just as the battle between the rival shows are getting more and more intense, Bianca, who plays the titular role, leaked to her followers what should be anticipated in the series.
The Kapuso actress announced that there will be a huge twist in the life of ‘Sahaya’ and on the run of the epic-drama series. Bianca stated, “Sana po abangan ng viewers kung paano magbabago si Sahaya. Kung gaano ka-drastic ang change na mangyayari sa kanya. Actually, this is my first show at character na may ganito kadaming layers.”
“Kami ni Direk Zig (Dulay), binabantayan namin ang lahat ng eksena kasi inaalagaan namin ‘yung character ni Sahaya. Sabi po ni Direk, gusto niyang makita kung ano ‘yung kayang gawin ni Bianca as Sahaya,” she added.
‘Sahaya’ airs every night from Monday to Friday, right after Kara Mia.
Aside from the milestone that her show achieved, the ‘Sahaya’ star herself was recently given recognition that made her Kapuso family proud of her.
During the 67th Edition of FAMAS on April 28, Sunday, she received the German Moreno Memorial Youth Achievement Award for continuously inspiring the youth. FAMAS (Filipino Academy of Movie Arts and Sciences) Awards is an annual ceremony giving honors to deserving candidates in the Philippine cinema in the calendar year. Behind this is the Filipino Academy of Movie Arts and Sciences, an organization composed of prize-winning writers and movie columnists.
On her Instagram account, Bianca thanked FAMAS for the recognition given to her. She also shared that such award is one of the things that inspires and motivates her to be better in the career she has chosen.
On her caption she wrote, “Maraming salamat po, FAMAS, sa parangal na ito. Tulad po ng sabi ko, isa pong karangalan ang mapansin at mabigyan ng parangal. Ang mga bagay po na tulad nito ay isa sa mga nagsisilbing inspirasyon sa mga katulad ko pong nangangarap, na ipagpatuloy na husayan po dito sa ating industriya.””Maraming salamat po, Panginoon!” she added.She ended her caption with,”Muli, maraming maraming salamat po!”
