A private dinner was organized at the Malacañang Palace on May 7 by the common-law wife of President Rodrigo Duterte, Honeylet Avanceña. The cozy event served as a thanksgiving to the pro-Duterte supporters during the 2016 elections.
It was a star-studded event as celebrities came forth. Ai-Ai delas Alas and on-leave actor John Lloyd Cruz were some of those invited.
Ai-Ai delas Alas short lived the event due to her urgent taping for ‘Magpakailanman’ of GMA Network. “Dumating ako ng 6:30 P.M. pero umalis ako bago mag-9 P.M. dahil kailangan na ako sa set ng Magpakailanman.”
“Hinintay ko lang na matapos ang speech ni President Rodrigo Duterte na pinasalamatan ang lahat ng mga artistang sumuporta sa kanya sa presidential election noong May 2016. Mula kasi nang manalo siya, hindi pa pala niya napapasalamatan ang mga artista na sinuportahan ang presidential candidacy niya,” she narrated in an interview.
“Nalimutan ko rin na itanong ang pangalan ng mga artista na kasali sa drug list. Tensed na tensed kasi ako dahil kailangan ko nang bumalik sa Magpakailanman. “Sandali lang ang paaalam ko sa kanila,” she added.

She also mentioned that she was not able to communicate with John Lloyd Cruz, who was also with Ellen Adarna that night.
“Kasama ni John Lloyd si Ellen Adarna. Hindi kami nagkausap dahil magkaiba ang table namin. Baka hindi rin niya ako napansin dahil buong gabi, may suot siyang dark shades,” she answered.
According to some celebrities, John Lloyd acted weird during the event such as not taking off his glasses even in front of President Rodrigo Duterte and was using an unusual cord for his shades.
They also noticed dark circles around his eyes when he took off his shades. These things kept the people around him bothered as they smelled something fishy about him.
Many were anticipating the actor’s comeback since his showbiz hiatus in 2017. Recently, John Lloyd had welcomed his first child with Ellen Adarna.
