GMA Network’s latest offering ‘Dahil sa Pag-Ibig’ is slowly attracting television viewers since its pilot episode on May 20, 2019. The drama series replaced ‘Inagaw na Bituin’ in the afternoon prime line up. From the 5.2% viewership rating it earned for its premiere episode, the show’s rating rose to 5.6% the following day. Even so, its rival show ‘Los Bastardos’ kept its lead, earning a larger audience share than ‘Dahil sa Pag-Ibig.’
The newest Kapuso series is top-billed by the fresh team-up of Sanya Lopez and Benjamin Alves. It is a drama series that depicts the lives of OFWs (Overseas Filipino Workers) abroad, and the sacrifices they make just to sustain the needs of their loved ones and to give their families a brighter future. The drama revolves around an OFW who lands in jail after his involvement in a crime and his wife who would do everything just to earn the blood money needed to release him even if it means losing her dignity.
Its rival program ‘Los Bastardos,’ on the other hand, is a family drama series that premiered on October 15, 2018. Now on book 3, the drama series revolves in the Cardinal Family that aims to keep their bond intact despite the tragedies they have experienced. Internal and external conflicts test the strength of the family. The series is based on the Filipino pocketbook Cardinal Bastards by Vanessa. The series stars veteran actor Ronaldo Valdez, multi-awarded actress Gloria Diaz, and Kapamilya hunks Jake Cuenca, Joseph Marco, Albie Casiño, Marco Gumabao, and Joshua Colet.
