Kapamilya actress Angel Locsin posted a rant on her Twitter account about the police newspapers allegedly red-tagging senatorial candidate, Neri Colmenares.
She also reposted a video showing police officers distributing Pulis Serbis Balita, official newspaper of Philippine National Police, containing articles accusing Neri Colmenares and other leftist party-list groups as local terrorists supporters.
“Bakit grabe ‘yung effort para makasira? Wala bang maibato kay @ColmenaresPH kaya kinakalat na komunista o NPA sya? Dahil ba gumagawa sya ng paraan para sa kapakanan ng ordinaryong tao at hindi sa ikabubuti ng mga mapagsamantalang tao? Mag-isip sana tayo,” Locsin wrote.

The actress expressed her frustration over the assumed black propaganda staining Colmenares’ name and claimed that this accusations are false.
“It’s the lies and black propaganda I don’t understand. If you don’t believe in him don’t vote for him. Spreading lies and destroying the reputation of someone with pure intentions is what I don’t agree with,” she said.
Most netizens supported Colmenares but some hated him as they tagged him as a communist while the actress took her stand defending Colmenares from his bashers.

Angel Locsin who is Angellica Locsin Colmenares in real life is the nephew of Neri Colmenares. She is an avid supporter of him since his 2016 senatorial race, which he lost, despite her belief in his advocacy.
The activist lawmaker had his second attempt at the Senate this May 2019 election.
