Carlito “Bonoy” Gonzaga, the father of Toni and Alex Gonzaga, lost his bid in the mayoralty race in Taytay, Rizal during the May 2019 elections. He was defeated by the incumbent mayor, Joric Gacula, with a gap of 19,000 votes based on the last results of the COMELEC Transparency Server.
The Gonzaga sisters had supported their father, who is currently the vice mayor of Taytay, throughout his campaign and even featured him in their widely followed vlogs. However, their star power failed to help propel him to victory in the 2019 Elections.

Despite her father’s defeat, Alex Gonzaga still thanked everyone who voted her father in a tweet.

One basher decided to react by humiliating her father for his defeat in the mayoralty race. Alex, known for her bubbly character, replied in a sassy and hilarious way.
