Winwyn Marquez expressed her wish to play one of the characters and be part of the GMA Network’s adaptation of the 2016 Korean drama Descendants of the Sun (DOTS).
On Tuesday, GMA Network officially announced that Dingdong Dantes will top-bill the Philippine version of Descendants of the Sun, during the press conference of Dingdong’s contract renewal with GMA Network. He will play the character of Captain Lucas (Captain Yoo Si-jin in Korea) a.k.a. Big Boss.
Following the official announcement, one netizen’s tweet mentioning Winwyn that she could play the character of Moira (Yoon Myung-Ju in the Korean version), a military doctor who is a close friend of the lead characters.
However, the the beauty queen-actress said that she cannot be part of the remake because she is doing the upcoming afternoon drama series, Dahil sa Pag-ibig.
Winwyn quoted the tweet and wrote in her reply, “I would love to play the role of Yoon Myeong-Joo in DOTS ph adaptation been really vocal about it. I’ve seen the series more than 3 times and just know everything about it haha but I’m already part of another show.”

The netizen also mentioned Rocco Nacino and Derek Ramsay in the tweet saying, “Now all we need is @nacinorocco’s confirmation as Diego and @wynmarquez as Moira. Derek Ramsay can play as Argus.
GMA Network has yet to announce the other cast members as well as the target airing date for Descendants of the Sun remake.
Winwyn’s upcoming show, Dahil sa Pag-ibig, teaser was already launched together with Sanya Lopez, Benjamin Alves, and Pancho Magno playing the other lead roles.
The TV series is scheduled to premiere sometime this May on GMA Network’s Afternoon Prime bloc
