As a showbiz newcomer, Tony Labrusca got his own shot of fame, despite being relatively new to showbiz. Known for his good looks and great acting skills, these gained him a lot of projects after he joined showbiz from the Pinoy Boy Band Superstar show and finished as a finalist.
Projects such as La Luna Sangre, and the one that gained him much of his popularity (the iWantv movie “Glorious”) where he was seen as a sex symbol and captured the hearts of not just the teens but adults as well. But as the rising star rose, some kleighlights are to be dimmed.
Last January 3, 2019, Tony Labrusca made a scene at the Ninoy Aquino International Airport where he made a commotion for the stamping on his passport with a 30-day stay only by the Bureau of Immigration. Due to the heated commotion, some fans had seen Tony differently. But Tony Labrusca apologized for the commotion that happened. Via Twitter, he said,
“@tonythesharky -I was unaware of the policy that because I was not with my mother, I did not qualify for a Balikbayan stamp, it was very upsetting for me. And I’m sorry that somehow, I took my frustrations out on the officer. But never did I ever call anyone stupid, nor an idiot much less brag about being a celebrity. I know for a fact that the officer is merely doing her job. My biggest mistake perhaps was letting my emotion get the better of me and again, I’m sorry.”
But has the spotlight already dimmed out for our Tony Labrusca? No. Tony Labrusca still got his spotlight, standing independently, despite new celebrities shining. He even has an upcoming series “Sino ang May Sala? Mea Culpa” along with versatile actors and actresses Bela Padilla, Ivana Alawi, Kit Thompson, Sandino Martin, Ketchup Eusebio, and Jodi Sta Maria.
In an interview, when he was asked when he expected these big breaks to come, he answered, “It’s all up to God, and you, yourself, how hard you work with the opportunities that are given to you.”
We should all look up to this kind of attitude. Despite the flaws that we have, or the mistakes that we do, we should learn from it and use this to strengthen our selves more.
