- Tom Rodriguez stated that he does not mind having concerns over television ratings
- Tom chooses to focus on his acting career rather than TV ratings
- Tom emphasized that being on the afternoon prime bloc is not an issue as he will still be giving his all-out dedication to all his shows
Tom Rodriguez has been one of Kapuso network’s most sought-after leading man. That is why Tom has been getting projects whether on an afternoon or evening primetime bloc. Now, he is starring in the new fantasy drama series ‘Dragon Lady’ where he plays the character of Michael Chan.
In the press conference of Dragon Lady, Tom stated that he will be giving his all-out dedication to the show, even though it is premiered in the afternoon primetime lineup. He emphasized that he does not mind the number of views in the television ratings. Though he knows that this is an important part for the networks, it is not directly his responsibility and that is why he sticks to his acting career and focuses on playing the roles given to him, in the best way that he can.
“For me it’s the same. As long as I’m there working with brilliant people, with people who are just as excited and just as passionate to be where they are, I already feel like a winner.
“Sa akin hindi ko inisip yun… I know it’s siguro bad of me to think about it, pero hindi naman sa dini-disregard ko yung ratings, coz I know that it’s important. Pero since it’s not something I directly have influence over, I mean kung ano lang naman yung trabaho ko, iyon lang makakaya kong gawin, e. So dun lang ako nagpu-focus, so nagpu-focus ako sa kung ano yung mae-enjoy ko.
“Iyon nga, itong team na napakagaling at napaka-passionate sa ginagawa nila. Sobrang excited ako na makasama sila, ganun kababaw yung iniisip ko usually when I’m preparing for a show. So whether it’s primetime or afternoon, for me it’s the same level of stakes and passion.”
