- Sanya Lopez stated that she can’t play Darna due to its being with the other network’s rights

- Despite this, Sanya is happy that she was considered to be one of the possible Darna players
The next Darna adaptation will be presented under the Kapamilya network, where its star Liza Soberano recently withdrew from, after she cannot physically portray the role due to an injury. Now that the Darna slot is available, many ABS-CBN female stars were suggested as to who will most likely fit the role.
However, a name was also raised from its rival network, this is none other than 22-year-old Kapuso network star Sanya Lopez.
With many believing that Sanya can best portray the role, Sanya, on the other hand, is willing to play the said role as it is also one her dreams to someday play a superheroine.
“Noong bata pa lang po ako, pangarap ko na pong maging Darna. I think, lahat naman po yata ng artista ngayon, gustong maging superhero, in a way.”
Unfortunately, the recent Darna project is under the rights of Star Cinema, so it is impossible for her to portray such character. Despite this, Sanya expressed her heartfelt gratitude and happiness to everyone for choosing her as one of the possible next Darna players.
“Pero sa ngayon po kasi, mahirap pangarapin ang Darna dahil hindi po ito sa GMA. Pero masaya na po ako nun na kinonsider po ako. Nakakatuwa, nakakatuwa dahil siyempre, sobrang strong ng character ni Darna, very empowered.”
She also hopes well for the next Darna, and that Star Cinema would be giving it to someone who’s rightly fit to portray the superheroine.
“Pero siyempre, iniisip ko pa rin na may karapat-dapat para doon and, for sure, ibibigay po ng Star Cinema sa karapat-dapat.”
Netizens still look forward for Sanya to portray Darna, as they claim that she has the skills and looks that would better play the Filipino superhero. They also hoped that network wars will be set aside just for Sanya to be able to do it.

Why? Can't the two network work with each other? if the creators of Darna chooses @sanya_lopez as the one to portray the role, maybe the "rights" holder can collaborate with the other to make the movie. Kelangan ba talaga palagi may "network war"?
