ABS-CBN’s latest series ‘Nang Ngumiti Ang Langit’ captivated the Filipino televiewers as it gained a score of 16.8%, as of March 29, against it’s rival series from GMA Network ‘Hiram na Anak,’ which only got 9.0%, in ratings posted by Kantar Media (Urban + Rural).
Meanwhile in NUTAM People Ratings (Selected Urban Areas only) also taken in March 29, ‘Nang Ngumiti Ang Langit’ scored 7.0% while GMA Network’s ‘Hiram Na Anak’ only got 3.7%.
The TV series also conquered Twitter with the Hashtag #NNALUnangNgiti which became a trending topic throughout the nation. The series goes as Mikmik, portrayed by Sophia Reola, a girl who grew up with her mother Ella, portrayed by Kaye Abad. Their life will be disturbed when her mother gets ill with Leukemia.
In her will to save her mother’s life, she finds out the truth that her mother is an illegitimate child of the Salvadors, one of the wealthiest families in the country. She tries to ask for help from the Salvadors, and will not be extended help until she loses her mother. Later on, Mikmik decides to live with the Salvadors with the hopes of acceptance and to seek for the love she received from her mother.
But as soon as she steps in the house of the Salvadors, the family members make sure that Mikmik pays for her father’s sin. Which will be intensified over the series.
The latest drama series outshined the ratings of its rival, as the series captivated the hearts of the Filipino televiewers, which made the series gain high scores NUTAM and Kantar Media in it’s pilot episode, and also topped trend topics in Twitter and being talked about in other social media sites.
The TV Series ‘Nang Ngumiti ang Langit’ is directed by FM Reyes and Marinette Natividad-de Guzman, and led by premiere actors RK Bagatsing, Cristine Reyes, Kaye Abad, and Enzo Pineda. Also, together in the series are child stars Sophia Reola, Heart Ramos, Miguel Vergara, and Krystal Mejes. “Nang Ngumiti ang Langit” can be watched in ABS-CBN, weekdays before “It’s Showtime.”
