The GMA Network drama anthology show ‘Magpakailanman’ hosted by Mel Tiangco prevailed the spot against ABS-CBN’s drama anthology show ‘Maalaala Mo Kaya’ hosted by Charo Santos-Concio, on last Saturday’s episode, April 27, 2019.
Given the data provided by Nationwide Urban Television Audience Measurement (NUTAM) on the two anthology programs, GMA Network’s ‘Magpakailanman’ “Male Sex Slave sa Saudi” got 11.1% in rating which triumphed against ABS-CBN’s ‘Maalaala Mo Kaya’ “Dance For Life” which only got 9.7% in rating.

‘Magpakailanman’s’ “Male Sex Slave sa Saudi” featured the true to life story of an OFW named “Jim,” played by actor Jeric Gonzales, who worked in Saudi, to fulfill his family’s need, but unfortunately, the company that he works for became bankrupt, and he needed to go back to the Philippines.
But, one of his children got sick, and he had no choice but to stay in Saudi. Hid from authorities and working for co Filipinos, this is how Jim survived but the story got worse when the land lady, Madam Sadeem,took an advantage of this situation and use this to make Jim as her sex slave, which his family knew and Jim made a way to escape from the grasp of Madam Sadeem.
He successfully escaped and was sent home to the Philippines.

On the other hand, ABS-CBN’s ‘MMK’ featured a story of a dancer who was diagnosed with a rare auto immune disease that starred Jameson Blake and the comeback of Ms. Claudine Barreto.
However, in the Kantar Media, ABS-CBN’s ‘MMK’ had triumphed against GMA Network’s ‘Magpakailanman’ by 22.2 %, and ‘Magpakailanman’ got a 19.4% rating.
