GMA Network contract star Jennylyn Mercado will portray as “Beauty” and will be working with Dingdong Dantes in GMA Network’s own adaptation of hit Koreanovela ‘Descendants of the Sun’ according to Jojo Gabinete of Pilipino Star Ngayon. “Uumpisahan sa June 2019 ang taping ng Philippine adaptation ng popular Koreanovela na Descendants of the Sun na pagbibidahan nina Dingdong Dantes at Jennylyn Mercado. Si Dominic Zapata ang direktor na pinanood ni Dingdong ang original version kaya alam niya na napakaganda ng kanyang bagong project sa Kapuso Network.”
The ‘Descendants of the Sun’ is an original Korean drama that was released on 2016. On the same year, GMA Network broadcast the show as part of the Heart Of Asia programming block. It premiered on July 25, 2016 and ended on September 16, 2016.
Because of its popularity and the support earned from the televiewers, GMA Network decided to make a remake of the said Korean drama.
Top-billing the Philippine adaptation of the popular K-drama, ‘Descendants of the Sun,’ are two of the biggest artists of GMA Network, Dingdong Dantes and Jennylyn Mercado. This is the first big project of Dingdong after his renewal of contract last Monday, April 22.
The taping for the said remake will kick start on June 2019, under the direction of Dominic Zapata.
Dingdong has already watched the original version of ‘DOTS’ and he believes that this will be a very nice project for GMA Network.
