Kapuso network’s heartwarming television series ‘My Special Tatay’ just concluded its 150th episode on March 20 (Friday).
The show aired on the afternoon primetime bloc for six months and it surely touched the hearts of many televiewers; witnessing the journey of the mentally-challenged character of Boyet, as he goes through life’s challenges while building his own family.
In its finale episode, it showed how Boyet (Ken Chan) successfully managed to have a happy and well-off family with wife Aubrey (Rita Daniela), son Angelo, and their new baby, despite his condition. It displayed an event that was fast forwarded to Angelo’s 2nd birthday, where a celebration was made together with family and friends.
After leaving such a captivating story, did it also made a good rating?
Based on the NUTAM Peoples Rating, the series dominated with a total percentage of 6.9 views as compared to its rival ‘Kadenang Ginto,’ which earned a total percentage of 5.9. Thus, the ending really did catch the attention of many netizens as compared to its rival.
However, based on the Kantar Media Rating My Special Tatay only earned a total percentage of 12.6 percent while its rival series Kadenang Ginto earned a total of 25.4 percent, making at least an average of 12.8 point difference.
Whatever the case may be, the series is a great story and it will be missed, as it leaves us a lesson that no matter how hard life may be for a physically challenged person, there is always that hope of living a normal and happy life.
