Actor Derek Ramsay was previously anticipated to transfer networks when he revealed that he has campaign projects lined up. Although he assured that he would be seen on TV, he never confirmed or denied his rumored transfer to GMA Network.
However, Derek is officially signing a contract with the Kapuso network this afternoon. Also, the announcement of his upcoming television series in the network will be disclosed in his contract signing.
In a previous article, he was already speculated to be enjoined in a project together with Kapuso star Andrea Torres. The two artists, who are known for their daring roles and sexy features, are said to star in an upcoming GMA Network television series.
Derek Ramsay has been in the showbiz industry for 22 years. He started as a model, had a stint as DJ on MTV, and is a TV commercial actor, ’til now.
In 2005 to 2011, Derek was a contract star of ABS-CBN Network, where he started as a supporting actor in the network dramas Ysabella, Habang May Buhay, and Magkaribal. Also, during that time, he was given breakthrough projects as leading man on both television and movies.
In April 2012, he signed a three-year contract and transferred to TV5. His first show on TV5 was The Amazing Race Philippines. After his contract expired in February 2015, he signed another three-year contract with TV5 on April 28, 2015. His last television show in TV5 was ‘Amo,’ a crime drama series, where he starred together with Vince Rillon, Allen Dizon, and Felix Roco. It was a story about a person involved in a drug operation, who runs behind the law and will have his family cover his tracks. The series premiered on April 21, 2018 and ended on July 14, 2018; having only 13 episodes.

Finally, in an October 2018 interview with Derek, he admitted that he sat down with GMA Network regarding a possible contract and requested to begin working with the Kapuso network in 2019.
