Actor-politicians in ‘FPJ’s Ang Probinsyano’ exited the top-rating series.
The ‘FPJ’s Ang Probinsyano’ character of senatorial candidate Lito Lapid was killed in February, just a day before the campaign period for national-level bets started. Jhong Hilario, whose character Homer died in the March 27 episode, is seeking re-election as Makati City councilor.
The back-to-back character deaths of Luis Manzano, running for congressman in San Juan, and Mark Lapid seeking for the mayoral seat of Porac, happened on the eve of the local election campaign period.
Amid their exit, the Kapamilya action-drama has been the venue for those who want to have a showbiz comeback.
Kindhearted actor/director Coco Martin gave Cogie Domingo the opportunity to start his showbiz comeback on the long-running hit series, ‘FPJ’s Ang Probinsyano.’
Cogie started his career with the Kapamilya Network and was considered one of the most promising actors in the ’90s. However, in 2017, he was arrested in a drug buy-bust operation but was allowed to post bail.
In the Kapamilya serye, Cogie plays Peña, one of the cops assigned to hunt down Renato Hipoloto, who is considered a threat to the country.
Another talented actor to join the cast is Raymart Santiago. He proudly announced on social media his inclusion on the top-rated TV show in the Philippines.
‘Police Major Victor Basco reporting for duty,’ was his caption
