ABS-CBN’s hit primetime drama ‘Halik’ aired its finale episode last Friday, April 26 on ABS-CBN and via TFC Online. Overall, the finale episode was loaded with remorse, lessons, and second chances. Yam Concepcion, who was showered with both praises and hate through her role, has learned the value of acknowledging one’s mistakes as seen in Jade’s life.
As ‘Halik’ bids farewell, the phenomenal series displayed all facets of love. There was Barry (Christian Bables) and Ken’s (Hero Angeles) rainbow-colored relationship; proving that love knows no gender. Lino (Jericho Rosales) and Jacky’s (Yen Santos) tale showed that true and selfless love will not be shattered even by the shrewdest winds. Despite being condemned by the world due to her sins, Jade (Yam Concepcion)’s own kind of happy ending denoted the power of motherly love. But no matter where it comes from, all kinds of love begin and end in one kiss.
The emotional finale wrapped an eight-month run of ‘Halik’ as the No. 1 program in its time slot, and an overall top-rater across the country, according to Kantar Media. ‘Halik’ recorded its all-time highest rating of 30.3% or almost triple the ratings of rival program ‘Love You Two’ that only got 11.4% during its finale last Friday (April 26).
Even in NUTAM (GMA Network’s TV ratings provider), ‘Halik’ was able to topple all the primetime shows including ‘FPJ’s Ang Probinsyano’ (14.4%) and ‘The General’s Daughter’ (15.6%). ‘Halik’ successfully ended its entire run as the #1 most watched TV program in NUTAM with 16.0% while all the GMA Network shows were down to single digits – ‘Kara Mia’ (9.3%), ‘Sahaya’ (8.9%), and ‘Love You Two’ (8.1%)
The show’s rating success, which translated to its first-ranked streaming audience on iWant and trending presence on social media, led to its extended run and the expansion of its story.
