It was on March 16 (Saturday) that the MNCTV, an Indonesian media company, announced its franchise of ‘It’s Showtime’ after it posted a lyric video of the shows theme song in Bahasa on its Facebook page.
The update was also officially confirmed by the program’s business unit head Peter Edward Dizon, when he proudly shared the video. The management backed this news up by confirming that the official premiere will be on Monday, March 25 and it will be titled as ‘It’s Showtime Indonesia.’
In a recent episode of ‘It’s Showtime,’ they shared their excitement over the Indonesian version of the show; and as they extended their happiness to the madlang people, they also raised the question of who might be portraying versions of themselves, especially Vice Ganda, who is the main host that brings the show up to its heights.
“Balita ko pati ang mga host nila ay pineg sa atin. Sino kaya ang Vice Ganda nila sa Indonesia at Vhong Navarro nila roon? At saka may pa-Karylle. Sino kaya ang Mariel?”
However, Vice Ganda stated that there might not be a version of him as he thinks that the culture in Indonesia is not that open and welcoming to gays like him. Adding that it might be prohibited in their country.
“Wala silang makuhang Vice Ganda kasi hindi ba ‘yung kultura nila roon, hindi maano sa bekbek, parang bawal sa bekbek.”
A Filipino singer-actor Leo Consul has revealed that he will be one of the hosts of the show together with Raffi Ahmad, Luna Maya, Chika Jessica, and Indra Herlambang. This was disclosed when he shared in his Facebook account photos of him together with his co-hosts preparing for the upcoming show.

Leo Consul who is from Pangasinan was a former host of ‘Eat Bulaga! Indonesia,’ the rival show of It’s Showtime in the Philippines. The show only lasted for three years but he made his way of making a name in Indonesia’s showbiz industry.
In 2006, Leo first attempted joining showbiz in the reality talent competition, ‘Starstruck Season 5.’ Failing his first attempt, he tried to audition for a slot in ‘Pinoy Dream Academy,’ a singing-reality show, yet he met with another rejection. He then decided to move to Indonesia to work as an English teacher. But surprisingly, he was discovered by BMG Indonesia, with whom he would later sign a contract.
