Angel Locsin has proved herself over the last few years ago with her superb acting skills and on-cam charisma and more Filipinos nationwide anticipated the actress’s much awaited comeback to primetime drama with the action-packed series ‘The General’s Daughter.’
The series instantly scored a high rate of 34 percent, topping it’s rival series of the other network, according to Kantar Media. ‘The General’s Daughter’s’ pilot episode started when the series introduced Rhian Bonifacio as she goes on a mission to save a group of fishermen which were taken by Chinese coast guards in the West Philippine Sea. Her mission failed. Luckily, her body was brought into shore by Elai (Arjo Atayde) unto Nanay Isabelle’s (Maricel Soriano) house, who will both render help until Rhian is fully recovered.
On the morning of January 22, the drama series topped Twitter in the list of trending topics, as it became a huge hit among netizens with the comeback of the Primetime Drama-Action Queen.
In earlier years, she has also rendered great acting performance before switching to her present network. During her early career years, she made her mark when she took her flight as ‘Darna’ in the GMA Network series and netizens also gave comments about how she’s gonna work herself again after going to ABS-CBN.
She made her Kapamilya acting debut in the drama series ‘Lobo’ as Lyka Raymundo-Ortega, which aired in 2006. The series won the “Ani ng Dangal Multimedia Award” and the actress was nominated for “Star Award for TV for Best Drama Actress.”
After that, she again appeared on the series ‘Imortal’ as Lia Ortega-Rodriguez, which aired in 2010. The actress was again nominated for “Star Award for TV for Best Drama Actress.” In 2014, she again took part in the drama series ‘The Legal Wife’ as Monica de Villa. The actress won several awards. One of her awards was the “4th OFW Gawad Parangal Best Actress” and “13th Gawad Tanglaw Best Actress for Television.”
In 2017, she appeared in the fantasy drama ‘La Luna Sangre’as Amalla Rodriguez. Angel had a special participation as lead cast with the protagonists. And recently, she topped the chart after her 5-year off-the-cam in drama when she took the role in the drama series ‘The General’s Daughter’ as Rhian Bonifacio.
