- ‘Dragon Lady’ started to air on March 4 on GMA’s Afternoon Prime after ‘Eat Bulaga!’
- The show replaced the recently concluded ‘Asawa Ko, Karibal Ko’ series
- The pilot episode featured the tale and tradition of worshiping dragons and how it affects someone’s luck
- Ratings of ‘Dragon Lady’ on its pilot episode was far behind from the ratings of its rival show
On March 4, 2019, the GMA Afternoon Prime series ‘Dragon Lady’ aired its pilot episode. The show started with Celestina (Janine Gutierrez) and Almira (Dianna Zubiri) running and trying to escape the mob who tried to seize them.
The scene was set in the present time. Despite a little disagreement on that part, as this doesn’t happen in real life that people would mob someone due to her physical appearance, the narrative of the first episode went well as it detailed a flashback of the love story of young Almira (Bea Binene) and young Charles (Derrick Monasterio).
The conflict on the pre-arranged marriage of young Vera (Isabelle De Leon) and Charles was when he wanted to back out and break up with Vera. Plus the fact that he’s scared to introduce Almira to his family. Soon, Almira discovered in a newspaper that his boyfriend is engaged to the daughter of boss Wilson Lim (Leo Martinez).
