Kapamilya star Kathryn Bernardo and Kapuso Pambansang Bae Alden Richards are set to star in a movie this 2019.
Star Cinema officially announced on March 12 that the two stars from the two rival networks will be appearing a romantic-drama film.
Kathryn expressed her excitement to this new project, “Kung tatanungin ninyo ako kung kinakabahan ako, yes super! Pero it’s a good thing. Nae-excite ako kung anong mangyayari, kung paano kaming dalawa. Hindi ko talaga alam kung anong mararamdaman pero for sure I’m very happy. Ang laking adjustment nito hindi lang para sa akin, kung hindi para na rin kay Alden.”
KathNiel fanatics are not surprised at all because they knew all along that their idol Bernardo and her boyfriend Daniel Padilla are set to be paired with other actors as announced last year after their box-office movie The Hows Of Us.
Kathryn had a solo movie together with Richard Gomez, Sharon Cuneta, with Tommy Esguerra as her partner in Three Words to Forever.
For Alden’s fans, it’s a pleasant surprise since his onscreen partner Maine Mendoza who recently revealed her dating the Kapamilya actor Arjo Atayde. The said revelation broke the hearts of the AlDub solid fans. This has somehow divided the fandom.

Alden is very much happy and honored to doing this upcoming movie.
“It’s a great honor and experience kasi I’m really in that stage of exploring the craft and my capability as an actor. As a fan of the movie ‘One More Chance,’ and to be directed by someone who made that film, sobrang fan po kasi ko nung John Lloyd [Cruz] and Bea [Alonzo], parang total package na po — wala na po akong hihingilin, sobrang saya ko po na nabigyan ako ng chance.”
The movie is said to be a romance-drama film about OFWs in Hongkong and set to start filming in April.
