After John Estrada left the Kapamilya Network on May 2018, his first teleserye with GMA Network was ‘Victor Magtanggol,’ a fantaserye that lasted 4 months with lead man Alden Richards. John is now with ‘Kara Mia,’ another fantasy series.
John received positive feedback with his performance, as he portrays the role of the late Mayor Antonio “Thony” Halili who was killed during a flag raising ceremony right in front of the Tanauan Municipal last July 2, 2018, in his first movie with the Kapuso Network entitled, The Last Interview: The Mayor Antonio Halili Story,’ directed by Ceasar Soriano, under Great Czar Media Productions that’s scheduled to show in cinemas on May 22.
GMA Pictures comeback movie ‘Family History,’ directed by Michael V. and wife Carol Bunagan, under GMA Pictures and Mic Test Entertainment, revealed that John Estrada is one of the cast members.

John was not able to join the story conference of the said movie. A picture of Michael V with John circulated in social media with a caption, “Isang karangalan makasama sa pelikulang ito… sa aming lead star, producer, writer at director na si Michael V a.k.a bitoy.. maraming salamat sa pagkuha sa akin para gampanan ang role na jay… Isa kang Henyo…FAMILY HISTORY! Malapit na.”
The Kapuso actor is not just busy with his teleserye, but with his upcoming two movies as well.

Accordingly, ‘Family History’ is showing this May. It will be aired before ‘Kiko En Lala’ with lead actor Super Tekla.
