- Jason Abalos stayed with Star Magic for 12 years
- In 2017, he transferred to GMA Network
- He is set to star in the GMA afternoon drama series Stolen that will premiere on April 2019
Jason Abalos is set to star in the upcoming GMA Afternoon Prime drama series ‘Stolen,’ together with Max Collins, Sophie Albert, Mark Herras, and Neil Ryan Sese. The show will premiere on April 2019 and is directed by Neal Del Rosario and Toto Natividad.
This is Abalos’s third drama series under GMA Artist Center, apart from several TV appearances in GMA Network and ‘Sunday PinaSaya.’ It can be recalled that he transferred to GMA Network in 2017 after playing the role of Joey Garcia on ABS-CBN’s PrimeTanghali noontime block drama series ‘Langit Lupa.’
He was Gael Harrison Makalintal on the GMA Network’s romantic comedy series, ‘The One That Got Away.’
During the blogger’s conference on February 26, Abalos along with former Kapamilya stars Paul Salas and EA Guzman answered questions about his career shift with GMA Network.
He addressed a question on how is he facing the challenges that his roles are presenting and as well as the themes of the shows he is working with.
Then another question was thrown to him.
Is having a love team a disadvantage or an advantage? How does he feel about being a character actor?
Matuto ka,” he said.
According to him, he has already adjusted in his being a Kapuso star, “Oo nman. Yung mga tao naman sa GMA masarap katrabaho, parang hindi nila pinapakita na bago ka lang, tinuturing ka talaga na as their own.”
Though jokingly, he blurted out when he was asked if he has any dream projects in mind with the Network, “Ako gusto magkaroon ng office sa taas, hahahaha isa ako sa mga boss.
Being in the industry for a long time, what he can offer to the network who took him after he left the Kapamilya network, is the respect for all the people he has worked with and will be working with.
In the years that he has spent in the said industry, what pieces of advice can he share, or tips to budding artists. “Ako, natutuwa ako sa mga batang bumabati.”
What he wanted to emphasize was to never forget that basic gesture, “Hindi ko siya nakaklimutan.
He was also asked on how he likes people to remember him? He shared that he wanted to be a remarkable actor and the fact that the people remembers him of his character.
He also shared the good feedback from the fans whenever he visits places outside Metro Manila to promote their shows, he said, “Natutuwa sila sa mga ginagawa namin.
Since he started his career by joining a talent search, he shared that if he was not an actor right now, he will still join and find ways to be in the industry.
He was also asked about his initial impression prior to transferring to GMA Network. Jason said, “Aaminin ko, natatakot talaga ako kasi 12 years ako sa Star Magic.
He also shared that he’s more concerned on what he can deliver rather that thinking about the ratings of his shows, “Ako hindi, ako ang gusto kong malaman kung paano ako umarte.
When it comes to rumours and intriguing issues in his career, he also shared his insights about it, “Actually yung tsismis hindi nawawala yan sa pagiging artista, mas naiintriga ka mas maganda, napapagusapan ka, mas nakikilala ka. Sabi nga nila good or bad publicity is still publicity.
