The word sober can be defined in many ways. According to singer-songwriter Jace Roque, his latest song titled Sober is about his faith and the darkness he had to face to get to where he is today.
Roque who wrote and sang the song, further described himself as, “I’m in a place where I’m not drowning in my emotions and I’m not masking what I feel anymore. Over the years I’ve learned to accept life for what it is and to just love myself.
“Sober is both literal and metaphoric. I am sober. Sober from drinking (since 2013) and sober from all the pain, sadness and anger.”
The song is a mixture of Pop-EDM and he dedicated it to people who are struggling with mental health.
Being as someone who struggled and triumphed such state, he is hoping that the song will be a tool to helping others deal with their battles, their inner demons.
