This only shows that, indeed, ABS-CBN’s afternoon variety show still gets the massive audience share in both the rural and urban areas based on Kantar Media’s survey, a reliable data and service for media measurement.
This proves that the show’s segments are very effective as it catches the attention of the netizens. One of its most awaited segment is the ‘Tawag ng Tanghalan,’ the amateur singing competition that is dubbed as “Your all-time favorite search for outstanding amateur talents.” The competition is open to Filipino contenders from Metro Manila, Luzon, Visayas, and Mindanao. A lot of talents from the segment had already been very successful and one of them is the Kid’s Edition finalists Keifer Sanchez, Mackie Empuerto, and Francis Concepcion, more known as the TNT Boys or Bigshot Trio. Another successful artist is Janine Berdin, who championed Season 2, has already made a record label song entitled ‘Biyaya.’
It also offers the ‘Miss Q and A’, where its second season ended with Mitch Montefalco Suansane as the new “Miss Q and A 2019.” Another one is the ‘Tong-Tong-Tong-Tong Papatong-Patong,’ a segment where two teams are given objects to stack up within 2 minutes and the team with the highest stack wins the game.
Currently, it added a new segment that acts as cupid and is called ‘KapareWho,’ the dating game for men and women who are in their 40’s and above. Two daily searchers known as “whomahanap” get to pick their dates from the three daily “kalawhoks.” This is very exciting that netizens surely forward to it regularly.
