Darren Espanto finally shared his thoughts on JK Labajo’s cursing issue, where his name was dragged and flared up Labajo onstage while performing with his band at a rock music fest.
During the press conference for Espanto’s upcoming concert tour The Aces, he did not escape any inquiry on the controversial issue that occurred in Rakrakan Music Festival, where singer JK Labajo cursed in front of his audience. When the question was thrown at him, it was obvious that Darren was hesitant n making any comment but managed to say a safe reply; that he’s not the right person to talk about it.
“Para sa akin, I’m not the right person na sumagot po dito right now. Basta, I’d rather not talk about it here at this type of event. ‘Yun po.”
Though he avoided the topic, he implied that if the same incident would happen to him, he would not mind it at all. Rather, he would just return a response of ‘I love you, too’.
“I love you too! Kasi nandu’n siya, ako ‘yung nagpe-perform sa stage. Sinigawan mo ako ng ‘I love you!’ babalikan kita ng ‘I love you!’ Oo. Ako ‘yung nandu’n, eh.”
Darren also extended his gratitude to his fans, the Darrenatics, for the continuous support and for defending him against the bashing that he has been receiving after the incident. He even thanked supporters who made an effort to shout his name during JK’s performance.
“Sobrang thankful po ako sa kanila. The Darrenatics are very solid and I’m just happy that our family just keeps on growing and siyempre po, wala din po ako kung wala po sila na sumusuporta sa akin, dumedepensa po sa akin parati. For me, the show just goes on and it’s just something na para po sa akin ano eh, it’s just funny, kasi nag-effort pa sila para gawin ‘yon sa ‘yo. So, gusto ko rin siyang pasalamatan for going there.”
He also clarified that he is open to making peace with JK since this is what everybody would want as well.
“Para po sa akin, as much as possible naman, opo, I think. Everyone wants that naman eh.”
