Discovered because of her unique look in 2016, Rita Gaviola became viral because of her genuine and humble acts as a Badjao girl. She was first seen on ‘Pinoy Big Brother Season 7’ as a teen housemate, after her photo carrying his brother went viral, donning ragged garments while wearing her beautiful and exotic face. After this break, she experienced to be Kuya’s housemate for a couple of weeks and was even bullied inside the house. When she was evicted from the ‘Pinoy Big Brother’ house, Rita was rarely seen on television.
Many were expecting her big break with ABS-CBN where she started her showbiz career but it seemed she did not find her luck in the network.
Three years after the social media fame, Rita Gaviola tried to enter GMA Network by auditioning in ‘Starstruck VII.’ Last January, she was spotted lining up inside the GMA Network compound for the first Manila leg of the seventh season of the reality-artista search ‘Starstruck.’
But even before the ‘Starstruck’ airing started, GMA Network immediately gave Rita her very own project. Rita will be joining lead stars Miguel Tanfelix and Bianca Umali in the upcoming primetime series ‘Sahaya.’ ‘Sahaya’ will bring to light the inspiring story of a young Badjao woman who triumphed despite all of life’s challenges. Throughout her journey, Sahaya remains true to her culture and beliefs as a Badjao, even defying the power of love.

‘Sahaya’ will air on March 18 as one of the primtime series shows of GMA Network.
