- ‘Addlib’ choreographer and dancer invites World of Dance Philippines judge to attend their workshops
- ‘Addlib’ emphasized that they do not deserve the 79 score given by WOD PH judges
- Jullian Abuda, ‘Addlib’ leader, is dissatisfied with results in WOD PH and challenges a judge to join one of their workshops to learn more dancing skills
One of the Philippine’s great dance groups, ‘Addlib,’ known as the choreographer to the stars, is the powerhouse crew of multi-talented individuals that excelled in different forms of dance and performance art.
On February 2019, the dance group joined ABS-CBN’s newest dance competition, ‘World of Dance Philippines’, a reality competition series based on the similarly-named American reality competition. The show features dance performers, including solo acts and larger groups, representing any style of dance.
The group successfully proceeded from the qualifiers to the duels. However, on March 24, ‘Addlib’ did not make it to ‘The Cut’ of the elimination round where only three talents will advance to the divisional finals. The reason was that judges thought that the group lacked the all-out performance for a competition at that level, adding that they believed ‘Addlib’ can do so much more.
Billy Crawford stated, “It’s a really really fun performance mahirap to for a competition to be honest with you. Kung kailangan kayong magpakitang gilas, this is the moment talaga because ito na yung make it or break it niyo eh. You need to still keep the competitive spirit.
Gary Valenciano added, “I’ll give a check for fun, I’ll give a check for colorfulness, I was looking though for the intensity of Addlib but thank you parin Addlib because I’m sure you have inspired so many by your colorfulness.”
However, the award-winner choreographer/dancer of ‘Addlib,’ Jullian Abuda, expressed his disapproval and sentiment on the show’s judges in his Instagram account. He stated that he and his team were not properly judged, implying that the judges were the ones who lack the needed skills and knowledge on dancing. He sarcastically invited a judge to attend one of their workshops, to be aware and be not ignorant of certain dancing skills.
He captioned this as, “So today pala pinalabas, haha, hindi ako aware, narinig ko na lang. napadaan lang daw ulit hehe lalong nakaka-bitter, sana man lang pinalabas nang buo pati mga ouch-na-ouch na comments 😂 when we were conceptualizing this piece, gusto ko sana mag-veer away from the usual fierce na atake and show the fun sign of Addlib, kasi ‘yun ‘yung totoong kami eh, masaya kami. it showed in our #TheAddlibVibe piece in 2017 (where we placed 3rd) ❤ YOU KNOW US, alam niyo kung paano kami mangarir, kaya ANG SAKIT na sabihan ka ng comment na, “nag-relax kayo” (wow) and “wala akong techinique na nakita” (wow na wow) 😂 GALING SA’YO? 😂
“When asked, sabi ko, this piece is a tribute to the TV dancers kasi ang baba ng tingin sa amin and i wanna show na we can be as competitive as the other teams tapos ang comment nung isa, “masyadong pang-TV. nag-aantay na lang ako na may lumabas na artista.”

Many of the ‘Addlib’ followers expressed their support to the team, some even said that it will be the end for them to watch ‘World of Dance Philippines’ due to Addlibs’ absence.
That concludes our world of dance PH journey. Thank you to all supporters of @theaddlib ! Time to enroll in our summer dance workshop. Yeba!!! See you all! https://t.co/0QYWsSviWn
