- The long-running action-packed television series Ang Probinsyano has previously invited Arnell Ignacio to appear in the said show.
- Ignacio assured Coco Martin series to give him a second offer and the latter will surely get a ‘yes’ this time.
- Ignacio has resigned from his post in OWWA effective March 1.
The TV host-comedian Arnell Ignacio is finally back in the showbiz circuit after he resigned from his appointed post. He expressed his interest to joining the Kapamilya primetime series ‘FPJ’s Ang Probinsyano’ as his comeback on television.
On July 2018, Arnaldo “Arnell” Arevalo Ignacio was appointed by President Rodrigo Duterte to be the Deputy Executive Director V of Overseas Workers Welfare Administration (OWWA).
During the 2016 presidential bid, Ignacio was known to be one of Duterte’s supporters from the entertainment industry. He was previously chosen by Duterte as AVP for community relation and services department at the Philippine Amusement and Gaming Corporation (PAGCOR).
But on February 27, the Malacañang has officially confirmed the resignation.. During the press conference, Ignacio stated that the main reason behind his separation was for his family, especially mentioning his father who is currently under medication due to having a stage four prostate cancer.
He emphasized that being the director of OWWA, it gave him lesser time with his family, he even emotionally pointed out that he was the last one to learn about his father’s heath condition.

He added that it is also mainly because his salary would really not suffice the needed expenses for his father’s medication. He further said that his income is even more when he was active in the entertainment world; thus it prodded him to resign from the service and return to show business.
Ignacio also shared that he was previously invited by the Kapamilya primetime series ‘FPJ’s Ang Probinsyano’ actor but due to his conflicting schedule he declined the offer. Now that he is free, if the opportunity is presented to him again, he has welcomed the idea of making a comeback via the top-rating series.
“Kasi naman, di ba? Tatawag ang Probinsyano, dapat mag-taping ka na bukas, e, palipad ako nun para sa problema ng OFW. Di ako, tinanggihan ko, samantalang ang iba, nagkakandarapa na mag-guest dun. Ako, tanggi ako nang tanggi sa guesting. Sa hosting, ang laki na ng pinakawalan ko. Di ba, parang nasira na ang showbiz career ko niyan? Hindi naman puwede yun.”
Effective March 1, he is officially no longer part of the said government agency, and he has dropped hints to do the prior offer.
In a statement of the Malacañang given by Presidential Spokesperson Salvador Panelo, it said that Ignacio has proven his credibility in the public service.

“Mr. Ignacio has proven his competence in public service in his current position, as well as during his tenure at the Philippine Amusement and Gaming Corporation (Pagcor). He has intimated his desire to pursue other endeavors. We wish him luck to a new path he will traverse. While the President [Rodrigo Duterte] has yet to formally accept Mr. Ignacio’s resignation, we recognize as well as thank him for his contributions to the Filipino people.”
