ABS-CBN’s newest daytime teleserye ‘Nang Ngumiti Ang Langit’ started last Monday (March 25) before ‘It’s Showtime.’ The series follows the story of Mikmik, who remains full of hope, despite being beset by a series of tragic events.
As shown in the trailers for the series, Mikmik will set out to find Ella’s family, with the mistaken belief that she will be welcomed.
Starting last February 25, GMA Network’s ‘Hiram Na Anak’ is a family drama with domestic and external problems. The series centers about the enthralling tale of a mother’s love for a daughter she raised as her own. It is topbilled by Yasmien Kurdi and Dion Ignacio, together with Paolo Contis and Lauren Young.
How did the pilot episode of ‘Nang Ngumiti Ang Langit’ fare in the ratings game?
According to Kantar Media, ‘Nang Ngumiti Ang Langit’ registered a rating of 15.8% on its pilot day while its GMA Network counterpart ‘Hiram Na Anak’ only got 8.9%. The newest Kapamilya drama got 6.9 points higher than the series topbilled by Yasmien Kurdi and Dion Ignacio.
‘Nang Ngumiti Ang Langit’ also won in Unofficial NUTAM data (GMA Network ratings provider) with 7.0% while ‘Hiram Na Anak’ got only 5.1%.
