The ABS-CBN reality show, Pinoy Big Brother, shared a lot of interesting and inspiring real life stories from its housemates. It’s a show that brings awareness and gives to a lot of viewers the idea that no matter who you are and no matter where you came from, as long as you’re eager to reach your dreams, it is possible to happen.
One of the hottest topics in the industry is about the real identity and gender of an individual who appears on the television show. If the celebrities who came out of their shells made noise, it inspired other members of the LGBTQI community; and to balance things out, no one can get away from the bashers and close-minded people who are not willing to accept equality and diversity.
On this list are the ex-housemates who made themselves real during the show as they admitted and shared their real identity to the people.
1. BB Gandanghari (Transgender)
BB Gandanghari, also known as BB Gandanghari, is a transgender Filipino actress, director, model, entertainer, and comedienne. He was born as Rostum Padilla, the sibling of Robin, Royette, and Rommel Padilla. During his younger years, he used to appear as an action star together with his siblings and got married to Carmina Villaroel in 1998, and annulled in 2002.
On March 2, 2006, in Pinoy Big Brother Celebrity Edition, she told her fellow housemate Keanna Reeves that he was a gay man. He underwent gender reassignment in January 2009.
2. Fifth Solomon (Bisexual)
Fifth Solomon is an actor, endorser, writer and director. He is the twin brother of Fourth Solomon (Fourth and Fifth Pagotan in Pinoy Big Brother: All In) and younger sibling of the actress Chariz Solomon.
On the July 17, 2014 episode of Pinoy Big Brother, his conversation with Big Brother triggered him to openly admit and clarify his sexuality. He said, “Nakaka-apekto pa rin. Ayokong aminin na hindi. Nakakaapekto siya, masakit siya, pero minsan, titiisin mo na lang. I don’t need to explain myself to them. Lagi ko na lang bang ipapaliwanag sarili ko? Hindi, kasi kilala ko ang sarili ko.
“As long na totoo ako sa sarili ko, at totoo ako sa pinapakita ko sa mga tao sa paligid ko, masaya na ako doon. I don’t need to explain myself to them.”
He also admitted his preference to his housemate Manolo and said that he is bisexual. It was recalled that in the beginning, it was not easy for his twin brother to accept the situation. Fifth’s brave decision made noise on social media; and gained praises and admiration. The famous comedian Vice Ganda also expressed his support for Fifth.

3. Ryan James Bacalla (Gay)
Ryan James Bacalla was part of Pinoy Big Brother 737. On June 15, 2015 – during his interview with Boy Abunda and Kris Aquino, in Aquino and Abunda Tonight, he said, “Ang first reason ko ay, to proudly represent the LGBT community.

“Hindi lang po ako ang naka-experience ng pambu-bully, marami po kami.”
He belongs to the batch of Bailey May and Ylona Garcia, but instead of pursuing his showbiz career, he decided to continue his studies at the Southwestern University in Cebu.
It was recalled that his glow-up photos went viral back in November 2018.
4. Jerome Alcere (Gay)
Jerome Alcere is the ex-housemate in ‘Pinoy Big Brother Lucky 7.’ He was a resident in Tondo, Manila and is now working as a nurse in California. He come out as gay in front of his fellow housemates in one of the tasks given by Big Brother.

On February 4, 2007, he was nominated for eviction, together with the Hashtags members Nikko Natividad and McCoy de Leon, and model and online personality Cora Waddell.
5. Jesi Corcuera (Transgender Man)
Jesi Corcuera was also part of Pinoy Big Brother Lucky 7. He also joined the StarStruck Batch where Kris Bernal, Paolo Avelino, and Aljur Abrenica started. He is now a transman and a vlogger with over 200,000 subscribers.
On the November 6, 2016 episode of Pinoy Big Brother Lucky 7, he disclosed brief details of his background, “Isa akong transman.”
“Pinanganak akong babae pero nung nagkakaroon na ko ng pag-iisip, yung pakiramdam ko hindi naaayon sa pagkatao ko.
“Si Mama tutol siya nung umpisa pero hindi rin natupad yung gusto niyang mangyari sa akin. Siyempre wala namang magulang na hindi tatanggap sa anak. Naging masaya na lang siya para sa akin. Sinuportahan niya ako.
He also revealed that he underwent surgery, “Nagpasurgery ako noong 2013.”
“Ang pagiging isang mabuting tao, hindi nakabase sa sexualidad o kung anumang kasarian.
“Para maging mabuti ka, kailangan ipakita na pantay-pantay.
“Gusto kong i-spread sa lahat yung equality.
“Hindi mo kailangang tingnan ang kasarian ng tao kung gusto mo man siyang kilalanin, lahat yan dapat pantay-pantay.” He’s also an advocate of gender equality.
6. Lyndon Oros (Gay)
Lyndon Oros is a licensed private school teacher in Quezon City. On the March 2, 2019 episode of Pinoy Big Brother Otso, he shared his fears doubts with his housemates. As his housemates initiated the interview, he stated his statement with, “Ang totoo po talaga, 25 percent pa lang ng personality ko yung pinapakita ko.
“Sobrang punong-puno pa ako ng fear para magsabi ng lahat ng bagay. Kasi di ko mailabas sa kasinungalingan, sa personality na ipinapakita ko na hindi naman ito.”
After explaining the reason why he hid the index card where the question about his sexuality was written he said, “Ako po ay bading.”
His fellow housemates expressed happiness and warmth acceptance to his revelation. And he continued sharing,”Sa work ko talaga tinanong na ako, pero tinanggi ko yun kasi baka pag sinabi ko yun baka mailang sila.”
“Kasi nahihiya ako talaga na ipakita ito. Kasi hanggang ngayon, nakakaranas ako ng panlalait sa lugar pa mismo namin.
“Pero I hope ito yung pagkakataon na makapag-sorry sa kanila sa pagpapanggap ko, and I hope yung mga katrabaho ko, yung mga estudyante ko, matanggap din nila siyempre yung ganito.”
7. Mitch Talao (Transgender Woman)
Mitch Talao is the second transgender housemate in the history Pinoy Big Brother. She also openly talked about personal life and family. Mitch is married to another member of the LGBTQI community who gave birth to their biological son, Eros.
She is one of the explosives of the show as it capitalized that she’s a transgender woman. She was evicted during the double nomination night of February 24, 2019 together with her other housemate, Wakim.
