- Sylvia Sanchez portrays the role as ‘Jesusa’ after Nora Aunor rejected the offer
- The ‘Jesusa’ role was not originally given to Sylvia Sanchez
- Sylvia emphasizes “Nora is Nora Aunor”
Sylvia Sanchez will again star in a new movie entitled ‘Jesusa,’ which is directed by Ronald Carballo of the OEPM (Oeuvre Events and Production Management) group. The said movie will be about a woman who is addicted to the consumption of illegal drugs. Sylvia is excited about the opportunity and didn’t think twice about getting the role, for according to her it will be her first time to do such a role.
“Wow, ibang iba ‘to sa akin. Never kong ginawa na naging adik sa isang role, so challenging. Bagong role, why not?,” Sylvia said during the press conference of ‘Jesusa’ last January 29 at the West Avenue Hotel.
The role was first given to Superstar Nora Aunor but she immediately refused the offer due to some conditions. That is why the role was given to veteran actress Sylvia Sanchez.
But she clarified that being not the first choice is not an issue for her and that she wholeheartedly accepts that fact.
Kasi sa ‘Be Careful With My Heart’ hindi ako first choice doon.

When asked if Superstar Nora Aunor regretted or somehow got offended about what happened, Sylvia just emphasized that Nora has her reasons and that they should not be compared with one another.
Ate Guy is Ate Guy, no comparison.”

Sylvia explained that there will be no other Superstar but Nora Aunor herself, for “Nora Aunor is Nora Aunor” No more no less. She also added that we should respect Nora for she sacrificed a lot to get where she is now. And many are still a fan of her craft.
It was also asked if Sylvia got pressured after knowing that the said role in ‘Jesusa’ was given to a superstar, she answered saying, “Actually nung nalaman ko na si Ate Guy ‘to, sabi ko dahil inoffer sa kanya ibig sabihin magandang project. Kasi every time natatakot ako, ginagawa kong challenge yun eh.”
This shows how strong and confident Sylvia is in portraying the said role.
After the presscon, Sylvia was praised by the interviewers, she then added “Nora Aunor is Nora Aunor. Walang makakapantay. Walang makakapalit.”
The movie ‘Jesusa’ will be shown this coming summer.
