GMA Network’s comedian Super Tekla is rising in the entertainment industry, not only in his hosting career but also in his acting career. He is currently trending on the television variety show ‘The Boobay and Tekla Show’ with co-host Boobay.
And now, he will be starring in an upcoming comedy film to be released any time this year.

At the story conference of Super Tekla’s first movie, the comedian got very emotional as he cannot shake off the overwhelming happiness that he is feeling right after knowing that he will be playing in a movie.
He also expressed his overall gratitude to the opportunity of giving him his career break.
“Ganito pala ang pakiramdam. Nakakaiyak, hindi ko akalain na darating ako sa ganitong punto. Thank you talaga dahil binigyan ako ng napakagandang break.”
Though Tekla felt the pressure in taking the main role, he is still very happy for the opportunity and took this as a great blessing. He added that he will rightly play the role, and will immensely prepare for it.
“Sabi ko nga sa sarili ko, kapag binigyan ka ng responsibillidad parang nakakatakot, pero bihira maging bida. Nasa cloud nine pa ako ngayon, ninanamnam ko pa. Kasi akalain mo, nanonood lang ako dati ng pelikula. Ang focus ko ngayon is kung paano ko ma-internalize ‘yung role ko, mailapat ko nang tama sa movie.”

Aside from his gratitude towards the new movie, he also expressed the success of the comedy show ‘The Boobay and Tekla Show’ which gained a television slot because of its online success.
“Sa show namin ni Boobay, doon pa lang, liglig, siksik, umaapaw na. Wala na akong mahihiling pa, sobrang thankful at blessed ko.”
The upcoming film will be directed by award-winning director Adolf Alix, Jr. Together with Tekla are Kim Domingo, Derrick Monasterio, Jo Berry, Tetay, and Kiray Celis, with special participation of Ms. Aiai delas Alas.
