- Paul shares his thoughts regarding his transfer of network
Comebacking Kapuso actor, Paul Salas, after staying with ABS-CBN under the Star Magic label for nine years has returned to his first network. He started his career back in 2004 through GMA Network’s talent search, ‘StarStruck Kids,’ alongside Miguel Tanfelix, Sandy Talag, Bea Binene & many others.
In a recent blog conference on February 26, Paul Salas openly shared his stand on transferring to the GMA Network. He was with John Abalos and Edgar Allan Guzman, who also changed networks.
During the conference, he claimed that he is very much excited because for the first time, he is again cast in a television series. He also added that he is amazed by the unique concept that the network brings, and this is one of the network’s strengths. “Oo sobrang excited kasi for how many years first time ko ulit lumabas sa isang teleserye, so excited ako.”
When asked on being a comebacking actor in GMA Network, what does he think he can offer?
He also shared that his initial expectation is just to stay longer in the industry, nothing more like being very famous.
He was also asked that as a child actor what can he advice to newbies in the industry, he said, “Huwag gawin laro talaga, kasi ako naexperience ko nay an eh ginagawa kong laro, iniisip ko na parang laro-laro lang to.
Paul Salas wants to be remembered as someone who is not only good at acting but also as a performer, like dancing and singing. His friends are very proud of him, having seen him grow and achieve a lot in his teen years.
As someone who started from a reality show, he encourages people to also join and be inspired to try and enjoy the journey.
Being with the GMA Network again, he stated that he did not have any difficulty in having friends because back when he was still in the Kapamilya network, he already befriended other network artists from his direct friends.
As one of the cast of the new primetime series ‘Kara Mia,’ he does check the daily ratings but it does not negatively affect him at all, in fact it even pushes him to do better.
“Talagang mas nagaganahan kami mag promote, and gawin ng mas magaling pa ang trabaho, ako lagi kong tinitingnan actually, di naman din nakakaaffect sakin kung mababaw or anything, kung mas mataas okay lang and gawin lang kung paano mas mapaganda ang show.”
Paul lastly added that being in the industry for fifteen years, made him mature enough to handle issues and rumors.
He stated, “Dati kasi, may negative sakin sinabi sa twitter, sinagot ko and sobrang nagburst-out ako and nagging lesson sakin yun, kumbaga nagging mature ako dahil dun, lagi ko pinagiisip na may kasama pang moral, so after ako sabihan ng family ko and ng management, dahil dun nagging mature ang pagiisp ko. Hangang ngayon kung ano man negative sinasabi sakin, pinababayaan ko.”
