Liza Soberano’s recent movie project, ‘Alone/Together,’ with on-screen tandem Enrique Gil, shows the life of young students who are both in love with each other but whose relationship did not prosper due to circumstances. The story also revolves around the normal setup of a college life.
In an interview with ABS-CBN New, Liza confessed that she actually feels regretful that she missed the chance of experiencing a normal college life.
“My best friend, kaka-graduate lang and I have one who is still in college. So ‘yung mga best friends ko kapag nagkukuwentuhan kami, sila lang ‘yung nakaka-relate sa isa’t isa because I didn’t get to experience their normal schooling. When I think about it, nanghihinayang ako.”
She also shared that she has a list of ‘what ifs’ when it comes to experiencing college life.
“Pero at the same time, I am lucky na I get to work. Pero parang iniisip ko din na what if nakapag-college ako and I got to experience all the hardships that they go through in college as well as the satisfaction of actually graduating.
“I also remember that I was doing ‘She’s the One’ when I was taking my entrance exams. It was our last day and I wasn’t able to take one of my entrance exams. I remember I was crying because I really wanted to go to college. Until now, it’s still a dream of mine. Well, I’m in college right now but it was also a dream of mine to graduate. Because my lolo, he always made me promise na kahit na artista ako, dapat maka-graduate ako kasi I think that’s the best gift you can give to your parents.”
Despite the fact that she’s doesn’t have the experience of being in a regular school and be with her peers, Liza decided to enroll in a special college program that would be suitable for her busy schedule as an actress.
As her grandfather wished her to finish her studies, she also dedicated her time to study and work at the same time to be able to have a complete education.
