GMA Network star Dion Ignacio started his journey in the entertainment industry after joining the ‘StarStruck’ search. Though he did not bag the Ultimate Survivor title, Ignacio showed off his guitar skills in the All-Star Band, and with a movie, together with TV guesting.
He played various roles like playing a villain, leading man, or supporting character in various shows. And now he will be leading in a new Kapuso primetime series ‘Hiram na Anak’, a family drama directed by Gil Tejada Jr., co-starring with Yasmien Kurdi and Leanne Bautista.
During the media conference for ‘Hiram na Anak,’ he was asked if he were thinking of transferring to the other network. He said that it has not come through his mind and he has been very grateful to the current network for the many opportunities that it has given him.
“Hindi po kasi ako pinababayaan ng GMA. Tulad po ngayon, hindi ko in-expect na magkakaroon agad ako ng bagong show, dahil last November 2018 lamang natapos ang ‘Victor Magtanggol.’ Kaya labis-labis po ang pasasalamat ko. Reunited ako kay Yasmien, na kasama ko sa ‘StarStruck’ noon, na ang last serye na ginawa namin ay ‘Saan Darating Ang Umaga’ ten years ago.”
At the age of 32, he stated that he is happily living with his non-showbiz girlfriend who has retired from her job as a flight attendant and started her own business, and together with their daughter who is one year and seven months old, Dylanne Jailee.
He added that he wants to save enough money for their daughter DJ and to eventually build their very own house.
“Nag-iipon pa po kami, retired na siya sa Etihad at mayroon siyang business at ako naman dito sa showbiz, gusto ko rin po munang makapagpatayo ng bahay para sa family ko sa Marikina, sa nanay ko, since nasa Bacoor, Cavite naman kami ng mag-ina ko. Kaya wala pa po muna kaming balak sundan si DJ, ipon muna kami. Sa ngayon po kasi ini-enjoy ko iyong pag-uwi ko from work na dadatnan ko si DJ na at her age, makikita mo nang lalaki siyang matalino. Masayahin siya kaya alis ang pagod mula sa trabaho kapag nakita ko na siya.”
‘Hiram na Anak’ is premiered on the network’s noontime line up replacing ‘Don’t Dare to Dream.’ The story will be about the lives of the married couple, Miren and Adrian, who are having difficulties conceiving a child. They then decided to adopt Duday, who will change their lives. The biological father of Duday, Benjo will try to take his child back from Miren and Adrian. With this, the couple will fight for their right to their adoptive child.
