- Will the new comeback project cause Krystal to join the other network?
- Krystal Reyes is known to hit the Kapuso networks with the series ‘Mga Mata ni Anghelita’
GMA Network’s actress Krystal Reyes is making a comeback in the entertainment industry after going semi-active to focus on her studies. She will, however, be doing a comeback project with the ABS-CBN for the very first time.
Bela Padilla has recently talked about her latest digital film project, ‘Apple of My Eye’ under iWant and Dreamscape Digital. Bela admittedly handpicked Marco Gumabao and Krystal Reyes to play the lead roles as techie millennial Michael and the old-fashioned flower shop owner Apple.
She emphasized that Krystal Reyes is the best fit for the character, that it’s as if it was written for her. Krystal having that innocent look about her and that is very simple and very unassuming.
She said, “Yes kaya we’re very happy na nakuha naming yung parehong first choice. Si Krystal kasi has this innocence in her face na parang never pa na-in love and very simple, very unassuming. Ganun yung dating ni Krystal sa akin and it’s true in real life also. She’s very unassuming and very easy to talk to. Ganun yung character ni Apple kasi. So pag pinanuod mo para siyang tailor written for Krystal. It wasn’t done that way but because of how she is as a person, parang siya na talaga si Apple. And ganun din kay Marco.”
Bela also added that she has always been a fan of Krystal Reyes, she was amazed by how a great of an artists Krystal is, how creatively she portrays and acts in the camera.
She explained, “We go way back kasi napapanuod ko siya sa “Mga Mata ni Anghelita” (laughs). Ganun yung pagka-way back. Nung high school, napapanuod ko siya. Ang galing galing niya. Actually fan ako ni Krystal. I saw how she grew sa TV. Also if she is thankful to be a part of this, mas thankful kami kasi she gave everything in this series. Ang galing galing niya dito. Dahil sa reaction niya lalo kang kikiligin so napamangha ako ni Krystal after this project. Gusto ko siya makatrabaho ulit because of this and I heard about her work ethic also, kung gaano siya kagaan katrabaho sa set. Kasi parang after the pre-prod, after the creating, hindi naman na ako sumama sa set eh, pero based sa mga kuwento nila, napakabait niya na katrabaho.”
For a very long time, Krystal is rarely seen or has totally not been having a project in the GMA network. But finally she has been given a project under the Kapamilya network.
Will this prompt the actress to finally join the ABS-CBN network?
Though this may seem to contradict with her statement in 2010, in a post from PhilStar, where Krystal was asked if she ever did receive any offers from other networks. She then replied, “There were offers but this is (GMA) where I started and grew as an artist. That’s why I decided to stay and it’s good that I know how to wait. They signed me to a new contract and I’m ready to work again.”
Krystal Reyes first started in the teledrama series ‘Bakekang,’ a role where she gained her current screen name. Her first starring role was as Princess, one of the two title characters in ‘Princess Charming.’
Her biggest break came when she landed the role of Anghelita in the remake series of ‘Mga Mata ni Anghelita.’ Reyes was also part of the 2013 remake of the 1996 hit TV series ‘Anna Karenina’ together with Barbie Forteza and Joyce Ching. After ‘Healing Hearts,’ she became semi-active in showbiz for her studies and she’s currently a freelancer.
