- Read the statement of Songbird Regine Velazquez after the alleged upstaging of Luis Manzano during their duet.
- Regine expressed how she feels about the attitude of Luis Manzano towards her
- The Songbird admitted that she’s doing voice lessons to learn and unlearn some of her singing techniques
“I’m still not talking to him nga. I’m upset with him. Wala, waley. Siya lang ang tiningnan,” said Regine Velazquez during her interview with Boy Abunda on TWBA.
That was the Songbird’s response when Abunda mentioned about her duet with Luis Manzano on ‘ASAP.’
“I’m gonna show you something. Kasi, ito yung pinaguusapan. I have so much respect for this guy, pero nung nagduet kayo parang nawala ka sa eksena, siya lang ang tinitigan ng mga tao, powerful singer. (Eto coming from my heart) one of the best guys in the world, tsaka one of the best looking guys in the world.
“Kumusta ang karanasan na iyon?,” asked Abunda to Regine.
When Abunda asked Regine about her rating on the performance of Luis, she immediately said, “100.”
“Sobrang cute ni Luis. Nung nag-guest ako sa Australia, nung very first ASAP ko when I came back, he was with me the whole time kasi alam niya nahihiya ako and he would follow me around so that I have someone to talk to. And I appreciated that very much.”
The Songbird also admitted that she’s doing voice lessons for the True and False segment of the program.
She explained, “I just needed to relearn what I’ve learned before. Kalimutan yung mga naaral ko na and then yung ibang part alalahanin. Kasi nung nanganak ako…you forget.”
“Ang pinakamahirap sa akin e yung kalimutan yung nakasanayan ko na… it doesn’t fit me anymore because I’m older and my throat is different and I have to learn a new technique…. do different techniques so it doesn’t burden my throat so much.
“I can still do it for some songs, pero pinipili ko na kung ano yung kantang kailangang ganun…”
