GMA Network’s former ‘Machete’ star Gardo Versoza has finally proposed to his long time non-showbiz partner, Marybeth ‘Ivy’ Vicencio.
He started out in roles such as ‘Sabik Sa Halik,’ ‘Machete II,’ ‘Halimuyak Ng Babae’ and ‘Kirot.’ His success is not limited to movies alone. He also has been the focal point of some of the highest rated shows on Philippine television including ‘Mula sa Puso,’ ‘It Might Be You,’ and ‘Sugo.’ And currently, he is one of the cast members of GMA Network’s ‘Onanay’.
Last February 02, Gardo finally popped the question, sharing in his Instagram account, a photo with the big question, “Will you marry me?” spelled on a bed using rose petals.
He also commented, “After 13 years, I wanna grow old with you. @ivy_vicencio I won’t last a day without you.”
Still feeling ecstatic, he further expressed his love for Ivy by again sharing a photo of her where she displayed her engagement ring with a tarpaulin at her back that says, “Will you marry me ‘Shugs’.”
Gardo and Ivy call each other ‘Shugs’ as a form of endearment.
The couple then received overwhelming greetings from their followers as well as Gardo’s co-actors in the industry. Some of them are Carla Abellana, Jackie Lou Blanco, Iwa Moto, Arnold Clavio, at Gina Alajar.
The couple started dating in 2006, making their relationship 13 years today. In one of Gardo’s previous post, they celebrated their anniversary last January 21. Ivy is a B.S Tourism graduate of La Consolacion Collge. In a showbiz article, it was reported that one of her interests is photography and dreams of becoming a cinematographer someday.
Last October 28, 2013, she gave birth to her first child with Gardo, naming him Deity Uziel, who is now 5 years old. And prior to giving birth to Deity, she already had two sons from her previous relationship.
Gardo proved that nothing is indeed too late in love.
