Whatever the reason behind the drastic change in her figure, it’s Celine’s body anyway. It’s her body and her choice on how to shape it. Unsolicited opinions won’t help in whatever she’s having right now. People may be able to call out and express their concerns in a more polite way.
In an interview with U.K.-based newspaper The Sun, Celine was able to address the criticisms that surrounded her figure.
“If I like it, I don’t want to talk about it,” she said. “Don’t bother. Don’t take a picture,” she told The Sun’s Dan Woolton.
Followed by her empowering statement.
“I’m doing this for me. I want to feel strong, beautiful, feminine and sexy.”
Celine Dion stressed out that she has no time for body shamers.
“If you like it, I’ll be there,” Dion said. “If you don’t, leave me alone.”
Her statements have proven that she’s unbothered about her figure and about the criticism that people throw at her. Despite everything she may have gone through in the past, she’s still a powerful and empowering icon regardless of how people see her figure.
Besides, she’s famous of her voice and not of her figure. Although, her sense of fashion made her much more admirable and inspiring.
Celine Dion became a fashion icon at 49. She said fashion helped ease the pain of her husbands death.
