- “They have to be humble,” Angelu de Leon said to the younger stars of today.
- She detailed the differences of the stars during their batch and the current batches.
- Angelu is excited as she’s bound to work with the stars of her batch.
Angelu de Leon can’t contain her excitement as she with her fellow 90’s stars are set to unite in the GMA Afternoon Prime, Inagaw na Bituin.
“Exciting, sobrang exciting,” Angelu shared her thoughts on working with Sunshine Dizon, Angelika dela Cruz, Marvin Agustin at Gabby Eigenmann on the said show which will premier on February 11.
“Kasi nga, para siyang mixture of everything good. Na lahat puwede mong ipagsama-sama and you know that everything is going to be good, everyone would be professional working wise. At lahat, merong maiko-contribute dun sa show. Very, very fortunate actually, yung mga bago naming alaga dahil marami silang mapaghuhugutan na mga aral sa mga tao. At sana, makinig sila sa amin. That when we say something, it’s not, wala lang. Gusto naming lumago silang lahat bilang isang artista. Hindi lang bilang celebrity, bilang aktres, kung hindi bilang tao rin,” she shared.
In an article of PEP.ph during the press conference of Inagaw Na Bituin in GMA Network on February 1, Angelu shared that she started her career the same age as Therese Malvar and Kyline Alcantara. Does she saw herself to them?

“Oo… pero parang hindi mo naman maiisip kung ano ka dati. Pero, they’re very lucky to have that time to shine now. Yun ang sinasabi namin na they have to be grateful for it. They have to be humble. Yes, it’s an honor to be given such a role yet be humble enough to realize na they have to do their best also. Hindi porke’t nilagay ka diyan, wala ka ng trabahong gagawin.”
Nowadays, she said that everything is fast-paced; easy come and easy go.
“In a snap, everything can change. Lalo na ngayon, iba na talaga ang mundo. Sabi nga namin, dati tumatagal ng five years ang show. As much as we want Inagaw na Bituin to last that long, but you know, everybody has their contribution. Kailangan din na ma-realize nila strike when the iron is hot and they have to be humble enough and be grateful to have a show like this.”

Does their batch more disciplined that the current batch of stars?
“Kasi sabi nga namin, thank God we lived in the ’90s, we have no proof of what we did. Kayo lang naman ang may proof ng mga ginawa namin, mga sinulat ninyo. Pero ngayon, parang make or break sila sa post nila, sa IG stories nila.”
She also saw the pressure of the younger stars nowadays compared to the stars of their batch.
“Our time kasi, it was more of a discipline. We were handled and guided well by our perspective managers, VIVA, network noon. Ngayon kasi, kahit na nadi-disiplina ka, they have access to the world. So, mas mahirap ngayon. Treading on egg shells sila ngayon, good or bad.”
