The comeback TV series of Angel Locsin via ABS-CBN’s “The General’s Daughter” dominated social media on Monday (January 21) night; also topping Twitter Trends on its first episode. Tagged as the Action-Drama Queen, Angel portrays a soldier trained to slay her own father, played by veteran actor Albert Martinez.
“Ngayon at Kailanman,” a family drama series, had ended its run last week with 34.7% rating on Kantar Media and 15.5% on NUTAM (GMA Network’s ratings provider) and was replaced by an action series, “The General’s Daughter,” back-to-back with the top-rating series “FPJ’s Ang Probinsyano.”
The competition became tougher as “The General’s Daughter” entered the prime time line up.
NUTAM
According to NUTAM, the pilot episode of Angel’s TV comeback had a 15.9%. GMA Network’s rival show didn’t even come close – “Onanay” only got 10.0%.
Kantar Media
“The General’s Daughter” scored a double-digit lead against its rival show as it hit a national TV rating of 34% versus “Onanay” (14%) on Kantar Media.
With new and exciting prime-time programming, the network ratings war will surely escalate.
