After the online success of The Boobay and Tekla Show, its viewers will also be able to watch its improved version on TV, starting January 27 after Kapuso Mo Jessica Soho. The said program is set against the time slot of the almost eight-year talk show of Vice Ganda titled Gandang Gabi Vice (GGV).
According to an article of Manilastandard.net, Boobay said during the press conference held at GMA Network Center, that: “Competing against the other program is like going against the wall.
“Our main purpose is to entertain the viewers. We have no intention to compete because it’s the management’s decision to put our show in the late evening timeslot. At the end of the day, people know what will make them happy, and it’s up to them to go for what they prefer.
“We are thankful to GMA Network because they saw our chemistry as a comedy duo. But for me, it’s the fans that brought us to the small screen. If not for their support—their million views and thousand likes for each of the episode for our online show— GMA Network wouldn’t give us this chance to reach a bigger audience,” said Boobay.
Although they have no plans of competing with GGV, Tekla still expressed how he feels about doing his job.
“Doing comedy is a big challenge and responsibility for us. For other people, comedy is just for fun, for us, it’s a serious business. I feel that we are leveling up, too. You see, from an online show, we’re now going to be seen on national television,” he said.
