- PLDT wireless unit Smart Communications (Smart) teams up with travel booking site Agoda to provide tourists amazing rewards and fast data services when they visit the Philippines.
- Customers will receive a code which they need to present to designated booths at the Ninoy Aquino International Airport to get their free Smart SIM.
To enjoy Smart’s services, travelers would just need to log on to the Agoda microsite and sign up. Customers will then receive a code which they need to present to designated booths at the Ninoy Aquino International Airport to get their free Smart SIM. They may also receive free discount vouchers for activities and tours; as well as limited edition merchandise when they load P500 or P1000 in the booths.
“This partnership allows Smart and Agoda to be at the frontlines when tourists go on a holiday in the Philippines, and help make their experience truly memorable. Booking quality accommodations and gaining access to the Philippines’ fastest data network, Smart LTE, are now made easy and simple,” said Carlo Endaya, Vice President and Head of Prepaid Marketing at Smart.
“We want our guests to not have to worry about their data connectivity as they visit the Philippines, so they can focus on sharing their newly created memories with their friends and families all over the world,” added Endaya.
“It’s really our goal as a company to put the Philippines on a platform and highlight what’s amazing about this country. And as we partner with Smart, we hope to pave the way to attract more tourists to visit, enjoy our culture, and show the rest of the world what we’ve got,” said Mikel Canete, Country Director of Agoda.
“Our test phase for this project is currently in Metro Manila airports, and we have already seen the warm reception from our kababayans as well as foreign tourists who avail of our services. We are also very excited to launch our second and third phases to hopefully tap Agoda’s Korean and Chinese markets as well,” said Precy Katigbak, Vice President and Head of National Key Accounts at Smart.
