- “Sakaling Maging Tayo” director and lead star weren’t happy with the box office turnout of their movie
- “Sakaling Maging Tayo” stars McCoy de Leon and Elisse Joson
This not a good news for McLisse fans.
Last Wednesday, January 23, 2019, the director of “Sakaling Maging Tayo,” JP Habac tweeted: “And we’re down to 8 cinemas. Hay.”

A netizen followed suit and shared a screenshot of where the movie is still showing:

However, other netizens expressed there disappointments with the following replies:
Sorry to hear that direk! Hibdi kase nabigyan nang exposure before showing… we have been requesting for a serye or a tv show man lang… all fell on deaf ears! Tapos very limited pa ang sinehan like sm baguio wherenit was shot- wala!

But it does not diminish the fact that the movie was beautifully crafted! And for their first film na sila lang ang solo to get consistent-good reviews is already a big accomplishment! And we are forever grateful for this! Thank u direk … thank u @Black_SheepPH!

Others felt that it was the lack of promotions, as well as TV guestings, for Elisse and McCoy that made ticket sales very low; resulting in the production house’s decision to pullout the movie from the cinemas.
Felt sad to hear this, the movie is great, the chemistry is overflowing and the music’s awesome but it boils down to not being given proper exposure on tv for the regular viewers to see their chemistry. We tried our best to tweet and ask for guestings but all on deaf ears. 🤗

And it also looked like it was only Elisse Joson who took time and effort in promoting the film. “More cinemas for Sakaling Maging Tayo! More cinemas for direk! More cinemas for us! 🙏🏼”

The following remarks were part of the emotional utterances during the interview for the promotion of the Black Sheep-produced movie:
“Sabi ko sa ‘PBB’ dati, sana huwag mo akong kalimutan, I will always support you kahit from afar. Ganu’n din ‘yung sasabihin ko ngayon. I will support you from afar. Always akong magiging proud sa mga gagawin mo. I’ll be rooting for you sa mga pangarap mo,” she said.
