Jose Manalo stars in his first-ever leading role in the movie, Boy Tokwa. It is under the direction of Tony Reyes which recounts the life of the late con-artist Rodrigo Morelos. The life of Boy Tokwa himself has both comedy and drama which required heavy emotions from Jose.
Jose shares the Kapamilya stars he wants to work with.
In an interview with PUSH.com, Manalo detailed the Kapamilya stars he would want to work with.
“Marami naman kasi. Like sina John Lloyd Cruz and Sarah Geronimo. Kasi mga movies nila ‘pag napapanuod ko natutuwa ako. Sa tingin ko mga komedyante rin sila kasi gusto ko naman maka-try ‘yung seryosong mukha pero komedyante. Mukhang masarap katrabaho. Mukhang masarap kabatuhan sa mga eksena.”

Reporters and bloggers present at the media conference which was held on Thursday, January 3, wondered why it took so long for him to take on dramatic role.
“Nung nandun na kami sa part na ‘yun—’yung ginagawa na namin ‘yun—naramdaman ko na si Boy Tokwa, kung gaano kasakit ‘yung pagkawala ng nanay niya… Hangga’t hindi ko nararamdaman na masakit, hindi ako papayag.”
Boy Tokwa will be released in cinemas on Tuesday, January 9.
