- “Onanay” showing is extended for now
- Though they lost in the ratings game of both Kantar Media and NUTAM, they’re still leading all of the Kapuso dramas
- The tug-of-war between Jo Berry and Cherie Gil continues
After giving an extension to “Onanay” to air until February, news broke this week that the series, topbilled by Jo Berry with Cherie Gil and Nora Aunor, was again given another extension despite it having a new rival show with high ratings with the other network.
In fact, after going on some action-packed week, it looks like “Onanay” is back again to its core: a tug-of-war between Onay (Jo) and Helena (Cherie). Today’s teaser shows Natalie (Kate Valdez) trying to escape Onay’s custody, to be with Helena. Can Maila (Mikee Quintos) stop Natalie from fleeing their house? Well, let’s see tonight.

Its rival show, “The General’s Daughter,” is maintaining its huge gap lead against “Onanay” not just in Kantar Media but also in GMA Network’s ratings provider, NUTAM.
Though we can say that they lost against “The General’s Daughter,” overall, “Onanay” remains to be the most-watched Kapuso drama on prime time with a 9.5% rating; beating “Cain at Abel” which stars Dingdong Dantes and Dennis Trillo and recording only 8.8% based on the January 22 ratings released by NUTAM.
So if “Onanay’s” not gonna end yet, “Cain at Abel” will be the first to go since “Kara Mia” is already confirmed to enter GMA Telebabad by February 18.
