Christian Bautista is sharing the stage with much younger performers in a concert series titled The Sweetheart and The Balladeer: Fun Night Only.
The said concert will feature Julie Anne San Jose, The Clash winner Golden Cañedo and finalist Josh Adornado. During the press conference, Bautista expressed how he loved working with neophytes.
Christian applauded young performers.
Bautista noted how much he loved working with Adornado and Cañedo. He recalled his experience as a judge in The Clash.
“Magkakaroon talaga [ng bago] eh. Josh is an amazing, amazing male singer and you (Golden) are an amazing singer as well. I believe he sings better than me and talagang when I saw him sa contest… kung minsan merong mga times sa contest na hindi ko, wala akong masabing mali eh. Kasi sometimes pag kumakanta siya, wow. ‘Any comments,’ sabi ni Ms. Ai (Aiai delas Alas). Wala, it’s great.”
Bautisa would also be willing to train them to go on the next level.
“So what we have to do now is to help these guys. Help Golden, help Josh. Bring them to the next level, bring them to all over the world so the other people can see how great they are.”
Christian perceived new performers as no-threats.
Bautista noted that he doesn’t see himself being sidelined. He pointed out that the new singers aren’t a threat.
“Paano mo mase-share ‘yung stage and the spotlight to highlight all of you. Hindi ko naman pwedeng sabihin, ‘hindi, dapat sa akin lang.’ It will not be beneficial para sa show, para sa other artists, or para sa channel because I was once a beginner as well. I was in a contest as well.”
The Sweetheart and The Balladeer also featured the comedic duo Super Tekla and Donita Nose.
