Hows of Us marked Garcia-Molina’s second collaboration with Bernardo and Padilla, after the 2014 film She’s Dating the Gangster. The film is the highest-grossing Filipino film of all time, grossing more than ₱601 million domestically in 20 days, beating Gandarrapiddo: The Revenger Squad‘s ₱571M box-office gross.
It is also the first Filipino film to breach the ₱600 million mark locally. The Hows of Us made $2.675 million (₱144 million), and counting, from overseas screenings. It also broke multiple records in the Philippines, including being the first locally produced movie to reach $11 million (₱600 million) in domestic box office earnings, which it achieved in 20 days.
The film also breached the ₱800 million mark worldwide.
My Ex and Whys is a 2017 Philippine romantic comedy drama film co-written and directed by Cathy Garcia-Molina. Starring Liza Soberano and Enrique Gil, the story is about a womanizer named Gio (Gil), who tries to prove he’s a changed man to his ex-girlfriend, a blogger named Cali (Soberano). Cali, on the other hand, tests if Gio really has changed, and things didn’t go as planned. The film was released on February 15, 2017 to commercial and critical success, grossing over ₱400 million worldwide. My Ex And Whys is the highest-grossing film to be starred by Soberano and Gil to date.
In an article by PEP.ph, it shared a prediction that the upcoming movie of Liza and Enrique, Alone/ Together of Black Sheep Productions might exceed gross sales of the box-office-hit movie Hows of Us starring Kathryn Bernardo and Daniel Padilla.
In the article, it says that according to the psychic/spirit questor, Atty. Nick Nañgit, the Year of the Earth Pig is in favor with the Fire Ox and Water Monkey, corresponding to the births signs of Liza and Enrique. He also shared some insights on how the two can achieve success on their upcoming movie:
