Derek Ramsay never confirmed or denied his forthcoming transfer to GMA Network. In an earlier report, he did admit having a meeting with GMA Network executives where they talked about a few adjustments to his contract.
According to rumors, Derek may or may not have his contract signing on the second week of January 2019.

When reports circulated that Ramsay will soon sign a contract under GMA Network, executives remained silent. Some rumors, however, pointed out that lawyers are still crafting the contract itself.

In October, Ramsay noted that GMA Network wanted him to start working by November. He, however, declined and asked if he could start in 2019.
“Gusto nilang mag-start na ako sa November but sabi ko next year na muna. Mga detail na lang inaayos ngayon.”
Derek admitted that Kapuso star John Estrada influenced his decision to transfer to GMA Network.
“John is my brother. It’s gonna be awesome na makakasama ko siya sa GMA if ever it happens. Yes, isa siya sa mga malaking reasons.”
